ROCK BALANCING WORKSHOP

Rock Balancing
Workshop

Don’t stack them. Make them stand.

“Ishihana” is the art of balancing natural stones using only your hands.
A stone that seems impossible to balance can suddenly become perfectly still.
Experience that surprising moment for yourself.

The moment you let go.

The trial and error before the stone finally stands still is part of the experience.

EXPERIENCE

About two hours with the stones.

01

Start with one stone

Explore the stone’s center of gravity and find the one point where it can stand on its own. No previous experience is needed.

02

Capture the moment

Every balance is a one-of-a-kind form that may never appear in exactly the same way again. When your stone stands, capture the moment with your smartphone.

03

Try two or three stones

Once you get the feel for it, try more challenging balances with two or three stones. Enjoy the process at your own pace with guidance from the instructor.
