A wreath-inspired string art design for the Christmas season. Choose and combine your favorite thread colors to create a piece that is uniquely yours. It makes a beautiful seasonal decoration for your home or a handmade Christmas keepsake.

2027 Zodiac Decoration — Sheep

A string art decoration inspired by the 2027 Japanese zodiac sign, the Sheep. Choose your favorite thread colors and create a handcrafted decoration to welcome the New Year. It can be enjoyed as a seasonal decoration in your home.

Create Patterns with Thread

In this workshop, you will wrap thread around nails already placed in a wooden board. As the layers of thread build up, the pattern gradually begins to appear. Watching the design take shape is part of the fun of string art.

The instructor will explain each step and support you throughout the process, so no previous experience is required. Beginners are very welcome.

About the Instructor

Youka Morooka (諸岡 容華)

Youka Morooka began studying Japanese calligraphy at the age of six and earned a teaching qualification in her mid-twenties. She later opened her own calligraphy classes and has taught students ranging from elementary school children to people in their eighties. After discovering string art in her fifties, she began creating and exhibiting works that combine Japanese calligraphy with string art. She also leads workshops that explore the unique qualities of both written expression and thread.

Can beginners join?
Yes. No previous string art experience is required. The instructor will explain the process step by step and support you throughout the workshop.
When do I choose which design to make?
You can choose either “Christmas Night” or the “2027 Zodiac Decoration — Sheep.” After you book, Gallery NOOOG will contact you by email or phone to confirm which design you would like to make.
Can I choose the thread colors?
Yes. You can combine your preferred thread colors to create your own version of the design. The photos shown on this page are examples of finished pieces.
Do I need to bring anything?
No. The wooden board, nails, thread, and all necessary tools will be provided.
How long does the workshop take?
The workshop takes approximately two hours.
Can children participate?
Yes. The workshop is open to participants of elementary school age and above. Elementary school children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Can I take my finished artwork home?
Yes. You can take your completed artwork home with you on the same day.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations are accepted up to three days before the workshop. Cancellations made two days before the workshop or later are non-refundable.

Before You Join

  • No previous string art experience is required. Beginners are welcome.
  • This is a casual creative workshop and is not intended as professional technical training.
  • The wooden board, nails, thread, and all necessary tools are provided.
  • You can take your finished artwork home on the same day.
  • Elementary school children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • For your safety, please use all tools according to the instructor's directions.
  • Photos may be taken during the workshop for documentation and promotional purposes.
  • Thread colors or some materials may change depending on availability and workshop conditions.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations are accepted up to three days before the workshop.
Cancellations made two days before the workshop or later will be charged the full participation fee.
Same-day schedule changes and no-shows are also non-refundable.
If the workshop is cancelled by the organizer, the participation fee will be refunded in full.
